Battle Jacks and MCCU to Host Free Community Tailgate

BATTLE CREEK, MI: The Battle Creek Battle Jacks (Battle Jacks) and Marshall Community Credit Union (MCCU) are thrilled to invite fans of all ages to a free community tailgate on Saturday, June 21. The tailgate, hosted at MCCU’s Battle Creek branch, is set to take place from 10 am to 1 pm.
The family-friendly event will feature free food, ticket giveaways, and autograph opportunities with Battle Jacks players. In addition to meeting the players, fans can enjoy a wide range of activities for all ages—including a bounce house, face painting, and a chance to dunk a Battle Jacks player in the dunk tank. Guests can also enter to win exciting door prizes or game tickets throughout the event
As a special bonus, the first 200 fans will receive an exclusive MCCU x Battle Jacks bucket hat—a limited-edition collectible only available at the tailgate.
“This tailgate is all about celebrating our fans and the community that supports us,” said Brody Conaty, Battle Jacks General Manager. “Holding this event outside of MCCU Field provides a free, fun event where attendees can meet and mingle with the players – a unique opportunity for fans." Conaty added, “The event also provides an opportunity for one of our founding partners, MCCU, to provide engaging experiences to members and fans alike.”
MCCU’s Laura Van Dyke, Financial Education Specialist, added: “It’s become one of our favorite summer events. Each year, we see attendance grow. It’s a family-friendly event and on a hot Saturday morning in June, the dunk tank is always a favorite—hearing everyone cheer when someone hits the target is the best part.”
The event will be held directly at MCCU’s Battle Creek location, located at 1157 East Michigan Ave., and provides a perfect day for baseball fans as the Battle Jacks’ evening matchup against the Rockford Rivets is at home at 6:35 pm at MCCU Field. The game also features Kids TV Takeover Night, presented by Grace Health, and fans can enter to win tickets to the game during the tailgate.
